Finally, after 5 days of this idyllic existence, we decided it was time to head back to Dar, preparatory to finally getting to Arusha. So on the morning of Friday, 12th October, we took a daladala back to Dar. Settled back into Jambo Inn, and dog-tired, we made plans the next day, to finally get to a BEACH! Daniel, by then notified by the frequent pointing of children and shouts of “mzungu” (or white foreigner), was beginning to notice a slight difference in colour between himself and the locals, and was determined to remedy this situation. (Daniel here insists that we also mention that the colour-blind children also applied the thrilled yells of “mzungu” to Richa!). Kunduchi beach, north of Dar won our vote, as containing sufficient sea sun sand and coral reefs for our needs. We got off the daladala walked to the beach and hastily checked our maps to see if we’d made a wrong turn and got to paradise instead. Here, we shut up and let the photos speak for themselves.
